दुष्काळग्रस्तांना मदतीचा हात

नमस्कार,

दररोजच्या वर्तमानपत्रांमध्ये आपण महाराष्ट्रातील भीषण दुष्काळा बद्दल वाचत असतोच! त्याबद्दल काही करावेसे देखील वाटते. अश्या दुष्काळी परिस्थितीत सरकार काय करते? असा प्रश्न देखील मनात येतोच. सरकारी काम त्यांच्या पद्धतीने चालु असतेच! आपण जर सकारात्मक भुमिकेतुन सरकारी कामाकडे लक्ष दिले, तर आपण आपला खारीचा वाटा उचलु शकतो.

अश्याच मानसिकतेतुन अहमदनगर जिल्ह्यातील काही तरुणांनी एकत्र येउन एक गट बनवला आहे. अहमदनगर जिल्हा हा महाराष्ट्रातील सर्वात दुष्काळी जिल्हा म्हणुन ओळखला जातो. भौगोलिक दृष्ट्या हा जिल्हा खुप मोठा आहे. सरकारी कामकाजाची पद्धत आणि दुष्काळाची भीषणता यामध्ये दुवा साधायचा असेल तर सामान्य जनतेचा आवाज सरकार पर्यंत पोचवण्यासाठी अन तक्रारी/मागण्यांचा पाठपुरावा करण्या साठी एका "हेल्पलाईन" ची गरज भासली. ती पुर्ण करण्यासाठी खालील कार्यक्रम राबवतो आहोत.

यासाठी आर्थिक मदतीचे आवाहन करित आहोत. आपल्या मित्रपरिवाराला ई-मेल पाठवणे सोपे जावे म्हणुन ते इंग्रजी माध्यमातुन केले आहे. सदर आर्थिक मदत आयकराच्या ८०-जी द्वारे करमुक्त असेल. परदेशी व्यक्तींनी/ परदेशस्थ मायबोलीकरांनी ही मदत आपल्या भारतीय मित्र/परिवाराच्या मदतीने पाठवावी.

इतर जिल्ह्यांमध्ये अशी हेल्पलाईल सुरु करण्यासाठी अहमदनगर गट सर्वतोपरी सहकार्य करेल!

Appeal For Drought Relief Efforts

Dear Friends,
I am writing to draw your attention towards a very serious issue of the current time. As we all are aware that, the current year is a year of Natural Disaster for Maharashtra. Some reports claim that the situation will be worse than that of 1972 famine.
In Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, drought relief efforts are being made by Government Administration. The administration works on three aspects.
1) Providing drinking water.
2) Providing unskilled employment.
3) Providing fodder and water to cattle’s through cattle camps.

Current scenario in Ahmednagar Dist is,
No of Cattle Camps (Chhavanis) : 218 and 1.34 lac animals
No of Water Tankers: 272 for 231 villages in 14 Tahasil’s
Estimated tanker requirment is around 850
and estimated cattel population to be served in Camps is lacs

The Holy Grail is that the administration does not provide anything Sue Moto. The relief is provided only to the areas/citizens who raise voice in front of Govt machinery or only to those whose voice reached upto govt machinery. For example, If the village doesn’t have source of drinking water, govt doest not START tanker to that village on its own, until there is demand / regular follow up of the demand. The villagers has to raise demand for drinking water to Gramsevak and Talathi. They submit the proposal to Panchayt Samitti.
Secondly,Dist Administration regularly undertaking review meetings at Dist and Taluka levels either independently or with Political office bearers. These meetings are largely politically influenced. Economically and socially weak citizens cannot raise voice in front of powerful leaders and hence remain out of the relief mechanism.
Also, in implementation of relief activities lots of malpractices happens e.g. tanker skips some trips, less or no payment to labour’s working on EGS works.
Hence, there is gap between demand and supply. The actual scope of work is to bridge the gap between comman man and Govt officials.
Their voice MUST reach to the govt machinery for better relief work and this is the point where YOUTH FOR CHANGE is focusing its efforts.

In such circumstances where the Government machinery is already under pressure due to huge work load. As a young activist, we have a responsibility to shoulder. Hence, few enthusiastic and experienced youngsters from Ahmednagar District, the ill-famous district known for its regular drought-like situation, have come together and are working together to provide some relief to the citizens, farmers, women, animals, live-stock. The government machinery is already under pressure due to huge work load.
HELPLINE initiative:
• We are launching a interactive website along with a Telephone HELPLINE NUMBER.
• Anybody from the district, who want to register his matter can call to this number. we will hear them and register it in our specially prepared software. Immediately one token number will be given.
• People can login to the website and register their demand/ complaint directly.
• We will forward all such matters through separate letter / email to concern govt authority with request for necessary action. For example, all calls demanding drinking water supply will be forwarded to Dist Collector, CEO of Zilla Parishad, Tahsildar and BDO of concern talukas, MLA and Sabhapti (PS) of the taluka.
• The caller will get sms from our system with the token number stating that his issue is forwarded to concerned authority.
• After a week we will follow it up with concern caller about the relief work, if he replied negatively we will forward his issue to higher authorities i.e. Divisional Commissioner, Secretary of Rural Development Department, Revenue Dept and Water Supply Dept and Guardian Minister (Palak Mantri).
• Again after a week if the issue is not resolved it will automatically get forwarded to Chief Minister, Deputy CM, Chief Secretary, Both Leaders Of Opposition.
• Finally we will forward the unattended issues to Lokayukta and Governor of Maharashtra State.
• At every step of follow up media will be involved. A copy of letter / email will be sent to local media to draw attention of people and govt officials towards the issue.
• Caller will be updated at every stage through SMS.
• Caller can view the progress / follow up of his issue online via website.

• Having Corporate experience from last 8 yrs.
• Working as a Area Manager in leading insurance company since last 3 yrs
