दिनेशदा - you are there

बंकेई म्हणाला, एक काम कर... माझ्या उजव्या बाजूला ये... मला वाटतं आपण असं नीट बोलू शकू... तो माणूस उजव्या बाजूला जाऊन उभा राहिला...

Zen is so obvious. It is just like this: Come to my left side, come to my right side.That is the beauty of the master: he never orders you and you start obeying him. He never tells you what to do, and you start doing things that he would like you to do. That's the beauty of a Master. That is his non-violent message. His each gesture, his smile, the raising of his hand, start creating in you something. He is tremendous energy -- that energy starts vibrating in you, moving you, changing you, transforming you, transporting you into another world.

Bankei has shown a very simple fact, that ZEN has no commandments, Zen is very obvious. It is like if I say, "This is the door, please get out by this rather than getting out by the wall." What are you going to do? Will you try to get out by the wall just to disobey me? Then you will be simply stupid and you will be hurt.

Zen says the truth is so simple and so obvious, we need not force anybody to follow. It is just like showing him: "This is the door, sir, and this is the wall. Now it is up to you. If you want to get out you can get out by the door, but if you want to struggle, you can try through the wall -- and get hurt in your head! This is up to you."

काही काल्पनिक आज्ञा!

अरे? नुसता काय रागावतोस? माझ्या एक कानाखाली मार!

अरे? इतकी हळू काय मारतोस? खण्णकन मार!

हां! आता जरासा सुजला कान! पण तुझा राग शांत झालेला दिसत नाही.

'तो' उत्तरला.

"तुला बडवल्याशिवाय तो शांत होणारही नाही"

"अरे मग बडव ना?"

बडवीन झाल्यावर बन्केई म्हणाला..

"माझ्या सर्व आज्ञा तू पाळल्यास. मोठा संवेदनशील दिसतोस. "

"आता मला निघूदेत" - 'तो' म्हणाला...

"जरूर... तुला पटलेलंच आहे की तू माझ्या सर्व आज्ञा पाळल्यास.. आता तू येथून जायला व माझ्या महतीचा प्रचार करायला मोकळा आहेस"

"पण जाऊ कुठून???"

"हे काय दार??? ज्ज्जा?? ज्ज्जा बरं इथनं???"

"ह्यॅ! फेकतो काय? ही भिंत आहे."

"मी म्हणालो हे दार आहे याचा अर्थ हे दार आहे.. आता तू काय भिंतीवर डोकं आपटून प्रयोग करणार आहेस??"

'तो'ने दार ढकलले.

दुर्दैवाने दाराने बन्केईची आज्ञाच पाळली नाही. त्यामुळे चिडलेल्या बंकेईने त्या काल्पनिक दारावर लाथा घातल्या. तोवर तो 'तो' भिंतीतून पसार झालाही.

तात्पर्यः स्वतःला शहाणे समजणार्‍यांना तात्काळ ओळखावे व ते जे म्हणतील त्याच्या बरोब्बर उलटे करावे.
