विमलचे लग्न झाल्यानंतर दोन-चार दिवसांच्या आतच तिला तिची आत्याबाई भेटली. तेव्हा आत्याबाईने विमलला जवळ घेऊन कौतुकाने तिचि पुष्कळ चौकशी केली. बोलता बोलता आत्याबाईने विमलला सहज विचारले, पण काय गं विमल, तुझा नवरा झोपेत मोठ्मोठ्याने घोरतो-बिरतो का गं ?
तेवहा विमल एकदम लाजून म्हणाली, अगं आत्या, आमचा मधुचन्द्र होऊन तीन तर दिवस झाले ! अगं, ते झोपेत घोरतात की नाही हे मला कसे कळणार ?
