Can anyone solve this

THERE ARE 5 PIRATES WHO HAVE TO SPLIT 1000 COINS OF GOLD. THEY ALL LINE UP
AND PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:

THE FIRST PIRATE IN LINE GETS TO PROPOSE A WAY TO SPLIT UP THE GOLD(e.g.
EVERYONE GETS 200 COINS). THE PIRATES INCLUDING ONE WHO PROPOSED, VOTE ON
WHETHER TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL.

IF THE PROPOSAL IS REJECTED, THE PIRATE WHO MADE THE PROPOSAL IS KILLED.

THE NEXT PIRATE IN LINE THEN MAKES HIS PROPOSAL, AND THE 4 PIRATES VOTE
AGAIN.

IF THE VOTE IS TIED, THEN THE PROPOSING PIRATE IS STILL KILLED.

A PROPOSAL IS ACCEPTED ONLY IF A MAJORITY OF THE PIRATES AGREE ON IT.

THE PROPOAL CONTINUES UNTIL A PROPOSAL IS ACCEPTED OR THERE IS ONLY 1 PIRATE
LEFT.

ASSUME THAT ALL PIRATES WANT TO BE ALIVE; THEY ARE VERY GREEDY; BEING
PIRATES THEY WANT TO SEE OTHER PIRATES DEAD; ALL OF THEM ARE EXCCELLENT
PUZZLE SOLVERS.

WHAT PROPOSAL SHOULD FIRST PIRATE MAKE?

SCRATCH YOUR HEAD.

THIS IS A GENUINE PUZZLE.

Prafull thats good

Another brain teaser

The descriptor sequence is a sequence of numbers in which the digits of each number describe the preceding number. The first number is 1. This number consists of one 1, so the second number is 11 (that is, one-one). This consists of two 1's, so the third term is 21. This consists of one 2 and one 1, so the fourth term is 1211. The first six numbers in the sequence are
1, 11, 21, 1211, 111221, 312211.

Show that no digit greater than 3 ever occurs, and that the sequence 333 never occurs.

First anwswer is each number is even or odd description is nothing but taking modulo to 3(zero represent by 3 )hence no number of grater than 3 can occur in this sequence

second hmm lets see
my guess is if they happen (suppose) then sequence is adinfinitum with the 333's that is it has to start with 333's to get 333's (a kind of loop ) but to prove thats the case is point)

100 boys standing at random in 10 - 10 formation.
1> the tallest boy in each column is found
out and the shortest among such 10 is
named as 'T'
2> the shortest boy in each row is found out
and the tallest among such 10 is named as
'S'.
during these operations, the order of standing of these boys is not disturbed.
what, among the following, will be the relation between the heights of 'T' and 'S'
A) T >= S
B) T <= S
C) T = S
Further, if possible, tell me the implications if case (C) were true.

If the heights of the boys are random, then T >= S is true.

Nandya's conclusion regarding case C is incorrect.
If T = S, then there is at least one boy who is tallest in his column and shortest in his row and if we assume that no two boys have the same height, then there is only one boy like this.

Answer is 4:42 and 8:24. Is that correct? Mahesh, what you are saying is not specified, hence no need to stick to the position between 4 and 5 after interchanging. But one thing is clear, after interchanging Minute Hand will be between 4 to 5.
