Just thought of sharing few tips from helath point of view that are "TTI" ,

1) If you want to avoid "telkat, deep fried papad", try just spraying papad on both sides with oil spray(olive oil would be good) and leave for 34 seconds in microwave on paper towel. It does taste like fried papad

2)if you want boiled poato in 10 minues ,leave in microwave for 10 minutes on high steam.
3)for chole to turn out soft and brown like punjabi dhaba, soak in tea water boiled with dalchini & garlic to avoid gas/flatulence). As soda-bi-carbonate is not good for health. Cook in pressure-cooker with enough water with garlic, dalichini and remaining tea water ) it comes so good "tondat virghanare aani ekdam milun yetat

4) mutton shijavatana kacchi papai takavi, lavakar shijate
5)chapati naram rahanyasathi aani healthy banavayala, dahi takave thodese pith bhijavatana
6)if you want to avoid all flatulence problem after eating kadadhanye(beans), put always garlic while soaking it:-)).

tell me if these were helpful!

Manu

PS: Do you know what is "TTI"

Another tips,

If you want to have shreekhand (home-made) in USA for calorie cauntious people, here is recipe,

get fat-free "stoneyfield yogurt(stonyfield yogurt chi chav changali asate) and tie it in cheese or muslin cloth overnight in refrigerator (before that just mix it with little amount of whole milk..little cheating in terms of calorie .paan he dhoodh galale jate).

sakali chaan chaakka milato .. talam malaicha. to hand mixie phulavava.

add "equal" or splenda sugar(0 calories)+ saffron+ charoli_cardomom vagaire vagaire.

its fun to make + little guiltfree ki calories kami gelya potat.

2) olive oil nasel taar roasted sesame oil can be used for frying fish. its equal healthy and tastes good specially for fried fish.

3)if salmon stinks after cooking, leave for a while in milk before fruing and wash it . tyala "umasa" vaas yet nahi.

another way, add ryme or rosemary with olive oil marinade, and if you grill all that stinky smell goes + tastes good

1. "Equal" is the brand name used for Aspartame. The safety of Aspartame for consumption is still hotly debated in some circles. Again, I'm not saying its safe or unsafe, just mentioning what I found during my research on Aspartame. I'm personally against using it, so I won't comment on whether anyone should use it or not but I will provide the official website:
http://www.aspartame.org/

2. As far as I know, milk and seafood should not be mixed since they are on opposite sides of the food wheel. (ref. salmon and milk)

Punya,
Thanks for your info. As for me suggesting to use "equal" or splenda" is 'purely' from low calorie consumption point of view.

And add to your info above, equal is not just made of purely aspartame but also in combination ofdextrose form + maldextrin. And its total carbohydrate content is 1 g for small packet.

To add more info since we are discussing health points here,
most of the sweet products manufactures are marketing their desserts, cookies etc as sugarfree by using "equal" or splenda as sugar substitute and in a way misleading based on below scientific data.
As per scientific data , these are or should not be considered completely safe from diabetic person's health point of view as well.

Reasons,
1) One should note its dextrose + maldextrin content of equal or splenda's "glycemic index".
2) what is glycemic index?
Ans: In short form defination, carbohydrates in food how quickly gets absorbed and shoot your blood sugar level is called glycmeix index of food.

Lastly, research is still going on, it is a topic of debate on using aspartame content products but its also agreed that it is not that unsafe too. May be once in a while.

anyways, friends you would get ample article on net to read on this but if you want anything specific to know on glycemic index then you can surely read and make yourself alert.

again, my suggestion over use of equal or spelnda substitute is from "low calorie" content.

One must choose what is really good for them for health.

sorry if any info or suggestions was misleading to anyone.

As for milk & salmon, I say dip in milk for 2-5 minutes not leave it overnight or marinate. and I did mention wash the salmon later.
It is not advisable to cook along with milk or add milk and cook.
as you say Punya, milk protein + fish protein combo is not good.
Thanks for bringing this point.

I want to point out one thing here --
Recently everybody has started doing this low fat low carb, low sugar diets. And they try to convince people how this make you loose weight, and how extraordinary it is and all that.

But before posting your tips here you should always make sure that there are no risk factors that come with that.

This is just a suggestion not a critisism.

Karadkar taai ,

Thanks for suggestion. I think whatever post from health point of view I made here has been proven riskfree and tried and implemented in real life on real people.
Honestly speaking some of them taken and learnt from known doctors around me.

I havent suggested anything that has any chemical content for reducing/curing any ailments or false assurances like marketing products with some claims.

some are purely basic care while we eat and how we can minimise risk of certain things in our daily life while we eat.

for eg: eating less oily food, have more grilled items etc.
or use of certian oils eg: olive oil or sesame oil in diet than more saturated oils
or
some healthy additions in food like adidng yogurt or soyabean flour etc.

I do agree with you when somebody writes something from health point of view should be more careful and should not mislead people.

I guess this will help if anybody has any concerns.
My intention is purely to share the knowledge here. Not selling my products or making any claims:-)

Lastly, for spelling mistakes, sometimes I write from office, aani bapu ekdam mage ubha rahil manun bharabhar type karatana spelling mistake hote bahutek.

aani chuka hya manasachya hatun honar nahitar konachya ho?

I agree with Manuswini, some of the tips are so basic that we should know it right from our schooldays. Like always eat hygenic food, do not eat oily food, eat more fibres, fruits are good for health, do not skip breakfast, eat green vegetables more often, drink plenty of water, avoid hotelling, avoid spicy food, walk after meal, wash hands before eating, sleep well at least for 6/7 hrs, take bath two times, prohibit urself from smoking & alcoholic drinks, avoid lot of tea/coffee and above all do exercise at least during weekends etc. Indians do not have aversion for exercise. They are great fan of good food which is nice but exercise is very much needed after certain age of ur life. Otherise u will loose elasticity of ur body and then it will be difficult for u to carry ur own body. If ur life is more luxurious then u need more exercise infact. These are very basic stuff but I have seen most of us do not care for it.
