1. it will be good if u can create statistic of a BB in terms of number of views, number of actual contributions...as u said counter is infesible but i am not sure u mean displaying count near to board is infeasible or to count is infeasible???
the same thing can be implemented for users..
hitguj user satistic..
# of bb's he/she created
# of messages he/she has put
# of days that user active..
2. the user account is closed/not cereated iff an email id check response message is not varified..within stipulated period..
so that unnecessary profiles can be deleted...
3. voting for best BB's of the month week..etc..
this will encourage/discourage :-) new contributers and make them "think"
4. "hitguj special"....dar saha mahinyani jar best bb archieve for last six months kinwa best voted bb's messages archievs karata ala tar uttam..

good ideas.
1. Will add to the "todo" list. There are some issues with adding counter. May be we can add a third party counter to avoid load on maayboli server. Looking into it. Possibly in may.
2. We will add this in next version (sometime 1 or 2nd week of april).
3.4. will be sometime later in the next month or early May.
The only thing is some BBs will be never archived. For example GTP and antakshari are most popular but they do not have long term value.

on the list, sometime in May. Possibly earlier.
But the directory and search will always depend on what a person wants to publish. So if you want to search for all members in California, the members who have hidden this field won't be shown. We will always respect individual preference for privacy.

That's fine! But at least let it index on whatever fields are available namely
Alphabetical list,
indexed current location
And others applicable.

Admin please put up the list of members and current users send them mail stating that whether they would like to include their name in the list.
It they do not wish to then do not add else please put up the list according to city, state and country.
And it should be limited to either alphabetical list of country then state and then city or either names of members.
I think names of members should be ore fine idea than anything else.

This is very good idea. I would like to suggest the list of all member id's and (if information is available and not hidden in profile) name,city, state, country, email should be available at one place. we can add statistics like number of BB's created and number of messages posted. we can also add 'get messages' icon for one click search for the messages posted by the member. Click on member id should link to member's profile.

These are definitely on our list. Sorry We are behind schedule to implement it. Having a directory is not a big task as it exists already (only I can see it ).
Our main concern is members getting junk emails. So untill we can work a solution so that only members can send emails to each other without knowing email address, we don't want to implement it. We really don't want one member sending emails to several members, unsoliciated emails. Does not matter it is commercial or just jokes but we want to avoid somebody using maayboli database for SPAM.

If e-mail is not hidden in the profile then anybody can see it. so if it is hidden in the profile then do not show it on the list. Only information which is not hidden should be displayed in the list.

most spammers pick up email ids using automated programs. One standard trick to put them off is to insert a space after @. Thus
xyz@hotmail.com will be given as xyz@ hotmail.com
That way members will know the email, but spammers will have to go to some trouble to colelct the ids.
