3. I wish to keep the Looking For, My Experience & Culture BBs to keep archiving since they carry very useful and sometimes critical information for people to use.
4. Gulmohor BB can be non-archival, or personal BB idea can be implemented for this.

But I would like to read and post feedbacks. I agree with Nandya.
May be you can accept donations from those who wish to give.
For the space and work load problem you can limit archiving on certain BB's by having time constraint or number of posts constraint. If BB is inactive for certain amount of time you can remove it.
I hope something can be worked out without making major changes.

a question: i know you may have clarified this, but it still isnt clear:
is the problem one of:
* insufficient disk space (as a result - a move to "self archiving")
* insufficnt bandwidth/server request load(this i understand is the reason GTP was shut down)
or
* maintainence time getting to be too much? and volunteer effort proving insufficient
if the main problem is #1 above, then it may be solved purely by solicited donations (to purchase additional diskspace) -maybe a six monthly round similar to NPR.
in the new format, however, since every "subscribing" user will have to archive stuff on his own in his own "personal" page ... it may mean losing valuable writings. plus the repetition.
also it means that i should keep checking all the time, so that i dont miss something nice that i could have found useful. in the current system, i may not visit the site for several days, then come back and still be able to browse the BBs that are archived, without missing anything.
if its a bandwidth issue, then im not sure how it can be tackled

I like the idea of personal BBs, however, there should be some way in which readers can post reactions on Personal BBs
Is it possible that each personal BB has two sections, one section where the Owner of the BB posts (archived / controlled by the owner) and the second section where reactions are posted (non archived / controlled by HG Moderators)
For any writer / artist, getting reactions from the readers is extremely vital for feedback on and improvement of his own work, so Personal BBs without any feedback may be of little use to him

Just to give you update...
1.Each personal BB will have two sections, a main section where owner only can post and a subtopic for feedback (non archived) where anybody(any current hitguj member) can post. I am currently working on resolving some technical issues, but have made quite good progress.
2. To avoid confusion, where to post etc, we will not have this " Add your Message" text box on main page. But rather main page(of each personal BB) will have two links, "Add article" and "Add feedback". Only owner can add article(which goes on main page) and anybody can add feedback (which goes on feedback page, which is a subtopic under main page).
3. Every post, including articles and feedback can still be moderated by all moderators to control profanity etc.
4. All articles , feedback will show in last 1/3/7 days searches just like rest of the hitguj.

I might be too late. But is it possible to keep the structure as it is and login ID can be alloted to the users only after the payment?
I went through all this BB but could not find the reason why you are trying to provide 'separate space' on Maayboli server to users?
If it is not too late , can u answer this querry?
Also, when u will start this implementation, please inform all users through email. If you post information only on maayboli some may miss the information. Like I am seeing this BB just now.

Asish I thik Ajay has made it clear that he wants to erect self sustaining, low maintainace system fir Hituj which could support itself for future. Providing subscribed space is one trusted way to achieve it.

Can we modify the main topics page of Hitgus to see all the topics and subtopics in a tree view. which can be expanded or collapsed as and wheb required. Because it is very difficult to remember the entire path of your fav. topic.
