Can anyone please suggest me a good point and shoot camera within range of $100-$150. I need to buy this for a friend of mine in India.
Here is what I am looking for...
1) zoom approx upto 105 MM.
2) Autofocus
3) In built flash
4) If possible DATE
5) from a manufacturer like Canon/Nikon etc. If someone has good experience about other brands, suggestions are welcome.
I would really appreciate if someone can suggest me a good camera in that range and having the said features.
Another question, if I buy this camera here, are there places in India (pref. Pune) for repairing the equipment if something goes wrong??
and I AM NOT LOOKING FOR DIGITAL CAMERA.. FILM CAMERA only

i guess nikon has a good range of cameras in that value bracket. i'm not a big photo buff, but i would recommend that you watch out for the lower number in the zoom range. for example if you see two cameras one 38-80 and one 28-75, then go for the 28 one. because sometimes the field in a 38 is not big enough. the whole picture doesn't fit in. also, make sure that the built in flash has a decent range. some work for only 5-7 feet.

natya: pentax pan check kar $155-$180 chya range madhe tula have aslele sagle features miltil and pentax are pretty good .... in the league of nikon, canon and minolta.....I don't know of any good deals at the moment....pan kahi kalala tar ikde post karin.....i found samsung camera's lacking sharpness/optical quality and to the best of my knowledge, would advise you not to buy samsung....stick to the above four brands....
kadhi kuthe deal laagla tar rollei/leica pan miltil $150 la (check www.cameraworld.com, tikde adhun madhun deals laagtaat) ...they are the best but normally are in the $250 plus range.

Tya camerachya specs madhye ek interesting prakar baghitala... Actual-image zoom viewfinder with diopter adjustment. tu aikale ahes ka yabaddal??

adjustment. >> on canon that feature means: chashmyachya number cha diopter adjustment dial in kela tar chashma aslelya lokanna chashma na ghalta foto kadhta yetat.....chashma ghalun viewfinder madhun baghayla traas hoto mhanun ha feature asto i guess.....i am not aware if there is any other meaning to that....might be....
I have always found www.bhphotovideo.com to be way cheaper than photoalley.....you might want to try find the same model on bh and check the price.
