Eliza: try this out, may be useful for to you.....
Since you have internet access, go to the University website and apply for a Graduate Brochure/Application package. They will post it to by mail for FREE. The package will contain all information you need along with course information as well. Alternatively you can go to British Counsel Library at Churchgate(Mumbai) where u can find all brochures of all UK Universities, so that you can instantly have a look at what the Universities offer.....

Yogi...thats useful for sure.....just send me my India ticket and I will be able to get all the info frm British counsel at churchgate.....i am sure you wnat to go all the way in helping me out with this.
What I am trying to look for is possibelly a consolidated summary of financial aid in UK if its there on the internet, etc. I know that different schools will have different procedures and all but in general the awareness is less abt education in UK than here in US (atleast mala tari jast mahiti nahi) Anyways...

Konala USA madhye MBA baddal kahi mahiti ahe ka? Mukhya mhanaje MBA karne kitpat yogya hoil (for a person in IT. I know this is very vague)
Few criteria:
1) Part-time in Houston or through distance learning only. Any thoughts which is better in terms of "value-for-money".
2) Not very expensive, karan swata khishatun paise denar ahe, so I cannot consider Rice University

Mack: Most of the US universities consider an M.Tech degree from places like the IIT's/IISc/BITS/Roorkee vagare to be equivalent to an M.S degree and you can apply into the Ph.D program directly.

MTech from iitm is equivalent to which US universities? >> Dude, there is no 'sacred list' as such that tells you which univs do and do not consider your M. Tech to be equivalent to an M.S degree.
If the school where you land up eventually recognizes your Mtech degree, they will allow you to transfer some credits for courses taken at IITM into the Ph.D program (max of 24 course credits generally). If not, you will have to follow the prescribed curriculum for the Ph.D program.

Devu: To get in finance/banking in USA, you have few options...
1. get some certificate course in finance/banking/insurance sector
2. get CPA, CMA, CFM, CIA, CISA or similar certifications
3. MBA/MS in Finance as major

Your info is too little to give you any suggestion.
Which stream are you in? Scholarships are available in different forms, may be you should visit American library and get the info, some are real bitches out there at the library but you got to have some "skills" to get the info.
Try Europe as well. I ignored Europe in the beginning but I can see equal prospects in Europe as in US, only getting in is difficult. I guess same story goes for US now after visa regulations, then why not try both at same time?
Think about it, write to me if you are in biotech/molecular biology/genetics field.
