Boli: What you mean by after MBA??? you can do MS/MBA in Communication/HR and utilise some skills you learnt in ur MBA program. If you have enough experience then u can go for Executive programs as well....

My sister did her BCom and then MBA (HR). She has a good experience in the field of 2 yrs.
She now finds that there is lot of competition, (with so many MBA's around) to get a good job. So I was wondering if there are any courses, etc which could be done to enhance your knowledge.
Something other than CS, CFA, ICWA, CA (as all these are accounts/finiance/law related).
Are there some correspondance courses offered by US universities, which can be done while one is in India.....

Law Change Info for F1 Visa holders (students):

I just found out that the 60 day grace period given to F1 visa holders after the date of graduation to apply for and get their OPT granted, has been axed starting this semester. The OPT now starts on the day you graduate.

If you apply for OPT on the day you graduate and get your EAD card 60 days down the line, you will find that the EAD card reflects your OPT start date as the day you graduated and you will have lost two months of your OPT for no reason.

If you graduate and have not already applied for OPT, you risk finding yourself out of status, unlike last semester when you could apply for OPT within the 60 day grace period available after the graduation date. Verify with the International Education Services at your universities and make sure you stay in status.

excellent choice of schools arch - these all have superb hospital facilities to back up the biomed research programs.

biomedical engineering (a lot of schools have depts of bioengineering instead) in today;s world spans a lot of areas - some are closer towards electrical engg (imaging and image processing, signal processing etc.) and there are others closer to chemical engg related aspects - hemodynamics, cardiovascular transport, artificial organ design etc

and last but not the least - biology/biochemistry related aspects : tissue engineering, mol bio, drug discovery, drug delivery etc.

some schools have a better program in some area than others!! make sure to match your reserch interests before selecting the school. also the undergraduate background necessary for each area differs drastically

>which r the american universities good for >study on 'kinematics'?

Dude, pure kinematics is a dead field. There is hardly any research left to be done if at all and there is not much funding in that area. Also, there wouldn't be any jobs when you graduate. If you are interested, you can check out the 'compliant mechanism kinematics' area. That is a hot field these days.

Some people who work in "Applied" Kinematics are ...

1. Dr. Shridhar Kota: University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

2. Dr. Bernard Roth: Stanford University. [If you are not real real good at math ... don't even think of working with him]

3. Dr. G. K. Ananthasuresh: Univ of Pennsylvania.

4. Dr. Kramer: University of Arizona.

5. Dr. Kenneth Waldron: Ohio State University. (last I heard from Kenneth, he was at Ohio State but was about to retire or so ... not sure if he is still around).

5. Dr. K. C. Gupta: University of illinois at Chicago.

6. Dr. J. Rastegar: SUNY.

7. Dr. Constantinos Mavroidis: Rutgers University.

8. Dr. Harvey Lipkin: Georgia Tech.

9. Dr. Imme Ebert Uphoff: Georgia Tech.

10. Dr. Kazem Kazerounian: I forget where Kazem is these days.

11. Dr. S. K. Agrawal: University of Delaware.

12. Dr. Greg ChirikJian ... john hopkins (does a lot of theoretical work, mostly abtract kinematic design using Lie Algebra and Differential Geometry)

13. Dr. Mike McCarthy: Univ of California Irvine.... does really nice work in applied spatial kinematics.
