Amcha USA madhe ajoon 2 years rahaycha plan aahe so tichya sathi konta course/certification suitable aahe ki to lawakar paan hoeil aani parat deshya madhe tyacha upayog paan hoiel. Deshya madhe phayada nasel tari hita lawakar sampun course/certification thode diwas hitach job experience gheta yeil aasa kahi aahe kaa. Ti aata india madech aahe aani ti 4-5 months ni hita yenar aahe, so in mean time tila deshya madhe konte course karu de jyane karun tila hita higher education kiwa certifcation easy jaiel. Mi technical background cha aslyamule mala commerce field baddal phar kahi mahiti nahi. So maaybolikar mandali kadhun kahi tari jordar madat milel ashi asha karato.

Thats not quite true. It is responsibility of the university to fund students and sure for PhD studies.
I have lost track of American system now but still I feel that you start working on your PhD thesis and side by side you get TA or RA through which you get money and sometimes that money is routed towards fees payment or you get it in hand.
Part time job should be another option to think of.
Since your daughter is working in field of psychology, I presume that her department will be attached to hospital where she can take part time job as counsellar. She should write to director of the course and check for the financial options available, Check with American library.
And yes, if its renowned 'state' institute then there should be enough chances and you should expect help but its waste to do so from private university

generally ... most PhD programs carry some form of financial aid - there is almost always a tuition waiver - and generally accompanied by a stipend (TA/RA/fellowship etc.)

Hi everybody,
I have done Bsc. in Microbiology from India.
I wanted to join some higher education here in U.S. But since, I need to have a B.S. degree first, i need to do a lot of courses which are not from my major subject to get a B.S. degree. So, I have another option to complete 1 year of external M.A.
from India. So, if I do that, will that be considered an B.S? Does anybody know anything about this? Is anybody in U.S doing an external course from India? Please give me some sugestion about the way I should go..

Your profile says that you are already in the US so its bit of an issue otherwise you could have done M.Sc. in India and then you could have gone ahead. The reason behind it, americans don't understand our system (but they understand English system, hyprocrite nuts) so they want basic graduate degree to be 12+4
May be a round way to this one could be, to earn enough number of credits. Get your transcripts evaluated so that you know how many credits you have and how many you need to get upto the mark so you can fill up this gap by taking small courses and become eligible. I guess it should be possible because afterall you pay the fees as per credit hours but what I am not sure of is, if you can apply for certain credit courses unless you are enrolled in some course ( say applying for medical microbiology course which is part of MS microbiology course)
Check with the closest university or few universities like Harvard and Stanford offer online courses, check it.
If you managed to find a way, do post your comments here so that next person who has similar query posts it. I am sure this question gonna come up quite often henceforth as partners of H1B holders won't be able to work

तान्या मुंबईत NIIT ही Institute चांगली आहे ग, म्हणजे माझ्या शेजारच्या मुलीने तसे सांगीतले. ती मुंबईचीच आहे, अन ती काही वर्षापुर्वी तिथुन प्रोग्रामिंग शिकली होती. सध्या इथे ती एका बॅन्केचे काम करतीय. English वर पण चांगली कमांड आहे तिची.
