Hi guys,
I am from Mumbai. I am in process of getting an offer from a Bank in Kuwait. i would like to know the kind of expenses i should consider while accepting the offer. The most important expenses i am looking are like house rent, monthly household expns and other expenses. What is the kind of savings can a person look out for on a monthly basis? Also what should be a decent offer for an MBA-Finance grad

Of course offer from Bank must be good , we won't ask you , how much 
Expenses depend on your spending habits , and be sure nothing here to spend on bad habits
House Rent , depends ..monthly starts from KD 150 for 2B/R to KD 450 in good complex.
Households , again what you would like to furnise with initially . Fridge , W/M , D/W , Cooking range all total in the range of KD 400 .
Groceries , if staying with family on an average KD 150 /Month .
you are a person from finance so we are unable to give you saving margin . if your offer is more than KD 700 , do expect 50% saving .

Thanx a lot for a prompt reply. i didn't know how to start a conversation in the same subject hence this. I am getting an offer of 1800 KD is that good? I guess going by your estimates i should be able to save around 1200 KD. If there are any other issues is hould consider please let me know.

Feels nice to know that i can turn to someone for advise and guidance. By the way, just wanted to know a few more things, How's the quality of education in Kuwait?, is it on par with that in India. I have a daughter 21 months old, hence was thinkig from her future's point of view. What should be the educational expenses.

Schools here are good , just choose which one American , British , Indian , Philipines, Pakistani Arabic ..oh no
Fee depends on which school , starting from KD 70 to KD 700 per term .
Indian schools runs CBSE syllabus , same pattern even exams by CBSE board. standard is ok so dont worry . my kids go to Indian school (its a branch of Delhi Public School) , fee approx. KD 300 per term (each 3 months term) .

Need some advise. The bank has send me a visit visa and has asked me to come there. they have said that they will take care of the work permit once i reach there. Is that an accepted practice or i need to insist on work permit? Please advise ASAP

As far as I know ,recently there are some changes in regulation that business visit visa does get converted to work visa ,earlier it used to be a problem to come on visit visa for work . taripan tu confirm karun ghe with your bank .

Me maaza.. u might have to exit the country once ur visit period gets over or befor that...Bahrain or Qatar for getting work permit (1-2 days).confirm this also with ur bank.
As suhasya mentioned it is a routine practise coz within one month, either employee gets frustrated(80%) or the employer(20%)... :-)
but overall...nothing to worry.

Cavenr , yes earlier this was procedure to leave country and come back on work visa , now recently here in Kuwait they changed to convert business visit visa (not other type of visit visa ) to work visa. aso ...

was trying to 'posht' in middle. But it seems the maayboli server was under maintanance. I wanted to ask you all to come to the airport to recieve me (like they recieve a king or roylty). The news is that i m in Kuwait. arrived on 20th jan. Don't yet have a local no.
