I have started a new open project called "shabdabhandar". It
is at http://thebhandarkars.com/shabdabhandar. It is based on the same
principles as the famous wikipedia, where anyone can edit the website site.
A lot of
internationalization work remains to be done. You can edit the site fully if
you create an account.
The reason for this site is as follows. When no new words are being created
in a language to keep up with the times, the language loses its existence.
We clearly do not want that to happen to Marathi or any other Indian
languages. My education until 10th grade was in Marathi medium. When I went
to junior college, I had a dictionary of scientific terms that translated
from Marathi to English. I used to think in Marathi and translate to
English. Slowly, the reverse started happening. Now I am at a loss for
Marathi words for commonly used English terms in technology, economics,
politics etc. This site is for creating new words and eliminating very
difficult Marathi words for common technical English words.
No single person has the intellect or knowledge to make this happen.
Fortunately, the net has allowed us to collaborate easily. I have based this
site on MediaWiki. The open-source server-side software used on wikipedia
etc. So, let
us collaborate to enhance Marathi. Even though it is hosted on my server
currently, if (or when) it becomes popular, I have plans to host it on a
separate site by getting sponsors. Perhaps even the local organizations such
as Maharashtra Mandal, Marathi Vishwa etc may be interested.
Feedback is solicited.

गोळे, तुम्हाला ते नीट दिसायला पाहिजे कारण ते युनिकोड आहे. तुम्हांला मायबोली, मनोगत नीट दिसत असेल तर हे पण दिसले पाहिजे.
Encoding चेक करुन बघा.

Devanagari typing as implemented by Manogat and Maayboli, is not supported in the wiki software. In fact Manogat and Maayboli are pretty nonstandard as far as typing other languages is concerned.
