Is now going into food franchize (Quizno's). Though it sounds risky, some of the reviews I read on the Food franchize FAQs were quite encouraging. One roughly needs to invest $70,000 upfront and needs to be worth $250,000.

Now a days I am also thinking of many options here or in India, I did some research on net, looks like for fast food, prime location is a must, esp where offices are located. Please note you can not count on dinner.
Getting a place in business dist. is what requires more investment. In many cities (I know about Oakland) county offers places at discounted price to jobless residents of that county. May want to expolre more on this.

Mahaguru - $10K inestment doesn't sound right, are you sure ? There must be some other fineprints in the contract...
Also the income 7K - 8K p.m., does that go straight into your friends pocket ??? (of course, after taxes etc)... There must be expenses like paying for hired help, a % cut to Subway owners etc...
How much gross/net, does you friend get in hand p.m. ? Also can you pl write a bit more abt the "dokedukhi" and "mehnat" part.. Thanks again.

about my 2nd friend ..who invested around 10-20K and earns around 7K per month:
ethe bay area madhe kaahi lok aahe tyanchi anek grocery stores aahet.sarva kaahi to ekataa chalavu shakat naahi ..mhanun to partnership madhe stores chalavato. Tyachaa sagalaa setup ready asato. tya mitrane 10 or 20K as investment dile ..ani to mitra gas station + taco bell + small grocery store (gas station madhe asate tase) chalavat hota ...all in one roof. tyachya mhananyaa pramaane 7-8 K (gross- before tax) tyalaa milat hote ...(asaavet karan tyane kahi mahinyaat merc gadi ghetali)
pan hya sarv prakarat khup mehanat aahe ... diwasaatun more than 12 hrs kam (anek vela 7 days a week) karave lagate ... plus food business asalyaamule regulations khup aahet, most of the workers are from lower class ..they hardly know english .. labor management hi ek dokedukhi aahe ase to mhanalaa. family life faar kami milate ...mhanun tyane 3 varshe he kaam kelya nantar ,hya business la ram ram karun coke cha sales manager mhanun kaam karat aahe... pagaar kami pan no zanzat.
