I tried to send "sweeets and flowers" to my parents as a surprise on a certain date from rediff.com. But it never reached and rediff did not notify me either way. But when I asked them what happened after seven days, all they said they could not send it and they promptly returned my money (on credit card)but the opportunity to surprise them was gone.

I've used Rediff.com, Indiaplaza.com and Samachar.com all three. And my experience was satisfactory. Gifts were delivered on time on the said date.
