Ek vishay suru karat aahe...

tumchya paiki sagalyanchya manat ha vishay kadhi na kadhi aala aselach aani pudhe pan yeil. Job change karawa ki karu naye ha prashna nehami sarwanna padato. tyamagache tumache wichar sangawe.

Mala watate job khalil sequence ne important aahe.
1) Job satifaction
2) Family
3) Money.

kahi sanga mag aankhi bolata yeil, tumhi kadhi job change kela asel tar tychi karane sanga. mag pudhe boluch....

mag tyat bhar mhanun office che interior avadale nahi, shift madhe yayala sangitle, 8 tasanpeksha jasta kam takale, shanivar ravivar sutti nahi, ani arthakaran.

वय २७ चालु.
software मधे २००० पासुन
आतापर्यंत ६ + २ resignations दिलेत.

२००० मधे ७०० रु प्रती माह वर सुरवात केली. T.Y. B.Com appeared असल्याने मला कधिच जास्त पगार मिळाला नाही की कधी promotion पन नाही.
तरी मी पहीली नोकरी कंपनी बंद पडेपर्यंत केली (९११). जवळ जवळ दोन वर्ष. कंपनी सोडताना ७००० पगार होता बहुतेक. B.Com complete केल व M.C.M. ला admission घेतली.

दुसरी नोकरी ११ महीने.
सोडली कारण्: पैसे.

तिसरी नोकरी ८ महीने.
Learned a lot here, whatever I am now, just because of this one job
सोडली कारण्: HCL Brand name + money (almost 35K) + Bangalore Exp.

Left HCL in 2 months, they asked me to work at i2 office as consultant, and I was not able to digest concept of consulting.

5th job was terrible, I was almost spending half of my work time in traveling, from M.G. Road to Maysore Rd. Though company had given car and driver I was not ready for it. Plus my 3rd job company had again called me back in Pune. and I was about to get 50K/p.m. घरबसल्या येवढा चांगला पगार परत आवडती company ... so left this job in 4 months and came back to pune, but things didnt work the way I had expected, when I rejoined, I joined on the same position on which I left, whereas my old friends had gone ahead, somehow I was not able to work properly in that condition. ego, म्हणा हव तर.

मंग ६ महीन्यात त्यांना परत राम राम केला आणि US .

everything was going good, though I was consultant most of the things were in my control. पन मधे मी ३ आठवड्यांसाठी भारतात गेलो तेव्हा employees नी माह्या बहुतेक responsibilites take over केल्या. भारतात जाण्यापुर्वी मी गणितात काम करत होतो, भारतातुन आल्यावर उगाच काहीतरी थातुर मातुर html मधले काम करायल लागलो. ज्यात मला काही रस नाही. ( " प्रत्येक काम समान असते " ज्यांनी कुणी म्हटलय, त्यांचे विचार मला पटत नाही. ) otherwise which mad will leave Goldman Sachs after working there for 18 months.

so now is my 7th job, looks like it'll continue for long time.

आतापर्यन्त जास्त करुन मी पैश्याच्या मागे होते, cause of some personal family issues. पन आता वाटतेय एका जागी २-३ वर्ष तरी रहावे.

but its software job, you cannot stuck yourself to one company or one project, otherwise you'll be out of loop and wont understand what is happening in world.

जर मी इतके job change केले नसते तर मी कधीच पौड मधल्या एका दुधवाल्या भैया पासुन Wall St. पर्यन्त पोचु शकलो नसतो.

final word to all people in software, there is really no need to work more than 8hrs / day or on sat/sun. if you cannot do something in official hour and you are not going to get extra monitory benifits for extra work, period. काही गरज नसते उगाच रात्र न दिवस काम करायची. project कुठे पळुन जात नाही की तुमचा job, BUT do work Sincerely in allocated official 8/hr.

You have put some very good points, like
1)One Should spend 2/3 years in one company
2)One should be in line with new trends.
3)Job satisfaction

This is really a big issue. If he or she is married then it adds one more dimension of spouse and kids. Risk in changing job increases. Also spouse/ parents can be the very reason for changing job

Savyasachi are you talking about Mechanical companies?....these thing happen there .....

Software Industry and ITES are competing with each other for the attrition rate. मला तरी असे वाटते की फार धरसोड करणे चांगले नाही. एका कंपनीत निदान २-४ वर्ष तरी राहावेच. कारण म्हणजे नविन नोकरीत ६ महिने ते १ वर्ष हे सर्व खाचाखोचा समजुन घ्यायला लागतात.
त्यानंतर कुठे
efficiency वाढायला सुरवात होते. फार धरसोड केली की खुप एक ना धड भाराभार चिंध्या अशी परिस्थिती होते- असे वाटते. माझा स्वत:चा नोकरी बदलण्याचा निकष म्हणजे- Resume update होतो आहे की नाही, नविन असे आपण काही शिकतोय की नाही- आणि सद्य परिस्थिती बघता Cost- Benefit analyses करणे. I believe that monetary growth is always marginal... म्हणजे तेच काम करायला २-४ हजार रु महिना जास्त मिळतील एक वेळ पण म्हणून लगेच नवीन डाव मांडायच्या नादात कधी कधी लोकं घोडचुक करतात.

if you are happy with only programming, and have no interest in becoming manager or team leader or UML or blah blah blah तर हे खाचाखोचा समजुन घेण्याच्या भानगडीत न पडलेलेच बरे.

anyway what you are saying is very true, one should not keep on juming in 2-3 months or 6-7 months, thats bad, i might have been lucky sometime in past, but its not always going to happen.

माझ्या मते नोकरी सोडायला तुमचा immediate manager हे बर्याच वेळा कारण असते. job join करताना बरीच promises दिली जातात आणी नंतर अपेक्षाभंग होतो... यामुळे व्यक्तिगत नुकसान बरेच होते.. आजकाल बर्याच companies पैश्याच्या मागे आहेत आणी employee relations, welfare and personal comfort कडे कोणीच लक्ष देत नाहिये.. हे पण नोकरि सोडण्याचे एक कारण आहे अस मला वाटत....

The other reason could be skillset upgradation.... I have seen instances in mainly a product based company wherein ppl would like to leave in spite of good salary bcos of sole reason that their profile is getting outdated, if they never come out in time they would have to stick with the same company forever without choice.

माझ्या मते job selection पासुन ते continue करण्यापर्यन्त बरेच issue कारणीभुत होतात वा असतात
एथे us मधे life is so unpredicatable .. earlier it was mainly because of mere compition then recession .but once established you can be a chooser and decide what you want in life now .. and that now means if you think you are enough compittive and ready to accept challenges specially demands of software industry then decide your priority. see in the beginning you need experience and want to know how practical experience once you ar eout of grad school here so cant be choosers in terms of location, money offered or how my cubicle looks. (trust me, I have left my job at one place which was a goverment office in USA and it sucks more or less similar way like India .. in temrs of its interior. नुसता काळोख आजुबाजुला म्हातारी माणसे
थंड पणे चालणारी लोक. आणी काम.
anyways, point is one can decide what is good for himself after establishing here, After all software industry is always changing.
