Sonalin: generally exam preparation saathi course karaaychi muLich garaj paDat naahi, assuming you have oracle installed on ur home PC where u can do all possible trial and error stuff reading books. 2-3 chaangali books ghe jyaane it will help u to prepare for exams.... :-)

When I bought my USED care couple of years back, I took the car to couple of shops for the check. Some autoshops have 50 point 100 point checks. They do various checks (Mechanical, electical) on the car, and evaluate the car as well as can tell roughly how long it will go. Also, they can tell how much you should pay for the car (approx).

Generally Japanese Cars do last longer if they are well maintained. My car has 125K on it and still running well. Since there are 93K miles on the car, you should ask the owner whether he has done Timing Belt/Water pump change. I don't know about Nissan, but this is recomended for Hondas at 90K. If the person from whom you are buying the car has not done that or he is unsure, its better to get it done as soon as you get the car. There are plenty of other things to check. I don't know much about stick shift cars..

Also, don't compare Toyotas to any other cars as far as noise is considered. Toyotas are one of the most silent cars. But it is important to check what kind of noise it is..

Also, check sites like www.kbb.com for used car reports and approx price in your area.

Limboni: dont worry about charges on credit card, almost all credit companies will refund your account or rather will not charge those fraudulant charges to your credit card account if you put dispute on those transactions. Regarding debit card I am not sure pan as u mentioned ur card was insured then you wouldnt loose any money from that either. Police complaint kelich ashil ashi aashaa aahe.

Few things should keep in mind:
1. Anywhere u park your car and no matter how good alarming system u have always make sure if you have any "valuable" item either put it in trunk or in the compartment near the front side seat.
2. make sure items inside car are always covered in such a manner that outsider wont be able to see what it is from outside
3. Try to park car near general parking or open public areas as suppose to a corner.

LIMBONI : I got this mail long back, as a general spam mail. I kept it in my archive. See if this help, the phone nos might be outdated. I dont know the genuinness of this mail. But worth reading...especially this could happen to anybody...

WHAT TO DO IF YOU LOSE YOUR PURSE OR WALLET:

We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed using your name, address, SSN#, credit, etc. Unfortunately I (author of this piece) have firsthand knowledge, because my wallet was stolen last month and
within a week the thieve(s) ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my
driving record information online, and more.
But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know. As everyone always advises, cancel your credit cards immediately, but the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know who to call. Keep those where you can find them easily (having to hunt for them is additional stress you WON'T need at that point!). On a personal note, I remember loosing a MC and until I got the toll free
number from information, etc. I was a wreck.

File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where it was stolen, this proves to credit providers you were iligent, and is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one).
But here's what is perhaps most important: I never ever thought to do this. Call the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a
fraud alert on your name and SSN#. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the
Internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new
credit.
By the time I was advised to do this - almost 2 weeks after the theft all the damage had been done (there are records of all the credit checks initiated by the
thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert). Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have
stopped them in their tracks.
