if you have some programming exp then the fastest way is doing 9 month MS financial engineering in chicago or new york. or part time MS which will take 3 years or so.
If you are fresh MBA or MS entry level positions may be available. quants develop mathematical models for the traders.

हम्म्म

any more insights on pre-requisites for 9 months as well as 3 years course

I have masters degree, but not MBA neither ME, BE. I think I'll be more interested in 3 years thing. I dont think I can crack GRE or GMAT.

I know most of these calculations quants do, thats my job. but dont have formal knowladge for any of them and want to check if formal knowladge will make any difference.

plus i heard quants make good money.
apperently all quants i met till now are chinese woman, dont know why.

you are right, most of quants are chinese. in fact there is a chisese quant association or something that meets every month in manhattan.
you have enough pre req to do the 9 month course. getting the first quant opening is a bit tough, it is later on.

I said I CAN NOT PASS those GRE or GMAT exams, is that ok?

can i get admission without these exams. I am interested in Maths and not English.

9 months course, is it full time or part time. If its is full time I wont be able to attend, as I am very much happy with my current job, and salary.

Do you know the New York institute name?

Just found this, its whole new way to solve problems.
using imaginary numbers... this seems to be very interesting.

does anyone have better knowledge of them, also will be good if you can provide some real example.
