What do you think of this ?
0.999… is the same as 1. Not just very close, but precisely identical:
a = 0.999…
10a = 9.999…
10a - a = 9.999… - 0.999…
9a = 9
a = 1
There's no trick here. It's just a mathematical fact that most people find deeply counterintuitive.

I think the only trouble with this is it is not possible to say for sure that
9.9999.... - 0.9999... = 9
I think it actually is like this
9.9999... - 0.9999... = 8.9999...

10 x 0.99999 ..... = 9.999 .... with one less nine in fractional part
e.g. 10 x 0.9 = 9.0
10 x 0.99 = 9.9
10 x 0.999 = 9.99 and so on
So next statement should be
10x - x = 8.999................1
9x=8.999..................1
x=0.9999 .................

गेली सहा वर्षे येथील मुलांना गणित शिकवता शिकवता, आजकाल मला पण ०.९९ x १० = किती ते करायला वेळ लागतो आहे. जरा कॅलक्युलेटर वापरायला शिकायला पाहिजे. आम्ही इंजिनियरिंग मधे मास्टर्स करून सात आठ वर्षे नोकरी करेस्तवर बाजारात कॅलक्युलेटर नव्हतेच मुळी, नि तेहि अमेरिकेत. मग कसे शिकणार?
