After getting green card, what could be a good place to settle in the USA based on the following factors?
Geography (Scenic places around for weekend outings)
Good Neighbourhood (Opportunities to make lots of desi / marathi friends)
Good weather
Low Cost of living and housing
Good employment opportunities
My brief research shows that Atlanta and Seattle are good places. Please share your views/experiences/comments/suggestions.

Has anyone ever thought about moving to another place within usa for reasons other than job transfer? can someone atleast share good and bad part of living in their town?

Thanks for your response. I have mostly lived in the south and south east and I really hate hot summers here. Its scorching hot and dry in south, uncomfortably hot and humid in the southeast.

अशी जागा USA मधे कोणतीच नाही..

suyog,south mhanje nakki kuthe rahata tumhi..amhi tampa la asto,it satisfies all your criteria.the seasons arent that differentiated,but its also not as hot as south florida area like miami.
i agree with mumbhai,saglyach ati purna karnari jaga sapadna kathin ahe.

I wish to thank everyone here for sharing this information. I agree its impossible to find a place thats fit all criteria. I am in dallas, texas and atlanta, georgia travelling and do not like both the places. Atlanta has worst traffic and has very high humidity in the hot summers. dallas is extremely hot and dry in summer and no greenery. People from mumbai or coastal areas in india would love atlanta climate. People from Andhra likes Dallas. We are fom Pune.
Mumbhai, many people have told me that they liked Seattle because although it rains most of the days, it never gets exteme hot or cold. Some of my friends who lived there told me its like living in Lonavala.
Mbhure, agree with you, but after a while, we have to decide to settle down at one place. If we buy house at one place and job goes then we would want new job in the same city because you already have a house and do not want to change kids schools etc. So, IMO we should think decide about place to stay before buying the house, even though you have a current job in the same city.
